Tom Sayers is originally from Jersey City,
N.J., but has made Provincetown his home for the past twelve or so years.
Before that he spent 20 years in Boston as a pharmacist, waiter and property
manager. Tom came to us in 2000 after working at the Dancing Lobster and
brings with him a fine sense of humor and a great work ethic. As if waiting
on table isn't a full time job, Tom spends his days doing carpentry and
catering to his canine companion, Boomer!
Joyelle, Larry's oldest daughter,
and Reid Snow, her fiancé, wear many hats. You can find Joyelle
doing clean-up, prepping the day's fare with the morning crew in the kitchen
or waiting table at night. Through Joyelle's efforts we now have occasional
local art exhibits and openings in the cocktail lounge during the summer
months. Reid's family is from Provincetown and he has lived here most
of his adult life. Between 1990 and 1993 Reid was in the military serving
in Korea. In addition to bussing tables at Ciro's Reid is an operations
and maintenance technician at the new sewer treatment plant. He enjoys
sports, particularly cycling and weight lifting. Joyelle and Reid have
a blended family including a son each from previous relationships, Tariq
and Payne and a son of their own, Izaiah.
Sara
Alter came to Cape Cod in the 1960's after graduating
from the University of Connecticutt where she studied English. In addition
to raising a now 30 something year old son, Sara collects and sells antiques.
She is no newcomer to restaurants having worked at the Little Fluke, The
Dancing Lobster and Sal's Place over the years. Sara now spends winters
at her new home in Georgia.
Zach
Luster, Larry's second oldest son, has been helping
his Dad for years and has come up through the ranks as a busboy and waiter.
Zach gets taller everytime he turns around. Better watch those low ceilings!
Among
his many credits Zach was PHS Varsity All Team Leading Scorer and a 4
year All Star and is currently attending college in Boston.
Silas
Luster, Larry's third oldest son, will be a sophomore
at NYU's Tisch School of Arts where he is currently studying film. He
is working on some independent projects and has freelanced an article
about his artist/mother, Cynthia Packard, that he is hoping to have published
in NY Magazine. Good luck Silas!
Cheryl Dennison, a mother
of three from Hopewell, Hanover, Jamaica, has worked in the kitchen
doing prep and the cold station, at the front desk as cashier and is now
a member of our wait staff. Very efficient and well organized, Cheryl
is a quick study and can be invaluable in many aspects of the restaurant's
operation. She and Larry, a couple now for several years, don't miss a
beat taking care of their young daughter, Danessa. Cheryl has two older
daughters from a previous marriage, Vanessa and Dawnelle. She looks forward
to spending her first winter in Provincetown in 2008 but is sure to miss
sunny, warm Jamaica when the snow starts to fly.
Luann
Bartolotta, originally from Connecticutt, has, in
her own words, managed more restaurants than most people have eaten in.
Usually working two, sometimes three jobs, Luann is extremely professional,
friendly and a true team player. She has worked at Ciro's in the past
as well as the Flagship and more recently at the Euro, George's, Fanizzi's
and Pepe's. Luann admits, with good humor, to having made a few mistakes
in her life but she always comes back for more. Her current goal is to
not make anymore mistakes! Good luck!
Racine Oxtoby, born
in Provincetown and raised in Truro, was PHS Valedictorian in 2007. Now
attending Connecticutt College as an English major, Racine is back for
her second year, promoted from busgirl to waiter. Racine has been
a DJ at WOMR hosting her own show called 'Teenage Wasteland' featuring
alternative and independent music. Additional interests include vinyl
collecting (as in records) and screen writing.

Betty
Alexander is back in the bar!
An institution for years and years, Betty decided to leave restaurants
a while back and devote herself to a 'late in life' jcareer in health
care with the VNA. However, when the need arose, we were able to coax
her out of 'restaurant retirement' and she is once again pouring drinks
and holding forth behind the bar.
Svetoslav 'C' Ganev,
hails from Bulgaria and is the younger brother of Delyan, who cooked for
us for several years before settling into a career in finance in Europe.
This is 'C's' first trip abroad and we're delighted to welcome him to
our staff. You'll see him hosting and cashiering at the front desk and
filling in at the bar. With excellent language skills, a very positive
attitude and a great work ethic you're sure to enjoy a conversation with
this bright and engaging young man.
Chris
Wilson, is our sanitary engineer par excellence.
The dish area at Ciro's is a busy and chaotic place but Chris makes short
work of it, always staying one step ahead and keeping things not only
clean but neat. We're happy to have such a responsible and efficient staff
member taking care of this essential and important task. Thanks, Chris,
for being so good at what you do.
James Lombardo has been
with us since 2001. His main area of expertise is the pasta station although
he can switch hit and do salads and desserts on a moment's notice. Very
secretive about his past and other interests, James tells me he will give
me more details for his bio shortly. Stay tuned.
Anika
Costa has returned to the salad and dessert station,
a job formerly held by her formidable mother, Lydia, back in the day.
Anika defines the term 'workaholic'. She has two other jobs and never
skips a beat. We are delighted to have her back in Ciro's kitchen expertly
preparing all items in the cold station.
Angel Collozo joined
our kitchen staff this summer and splits his time between the pasta end
of the line and the salad and dessert station. Originally from Brooklyn,
Angel has been in Provincetown for 5 years and worked at the Euro before
joining our crew. In addition to being a cook he is a DJ and loves to
play basketball.
Heather Alexander,
whose mother, Betty, has bartended at Ciro's for years, joins our staff
intermittently as a busgirl par excellent! Heather is always there when
you need her and can run cirlcles around most of us. During the day she
does private duty home health care. Her energetic work ethic and terrific
sense of humor are invaluable and keep us all giggling through the night!
Thanks Heather!
Iva
Belicova,
our multi-talented hostess/cashier/busperson,
is
from Turany, Slovakia where she is studying actuary science and insurance
mathematics at the University of Bratislava. Last year she worked at Yellowstone
Park in Grand Village.
Her interests include hiking and running along with bargain shopping at
all the local thrift shops. Iva has a great eye for fashion and has found
some very becoming outfits!
Lukas
Krupa,
from Snina, Slovakia, is a student at the University of Bratislava where
he studies computer science and software programming. This summer Lukas
is spending a lot of time in our kitchen making salads, appetizers and
desserts at night and as a member of the prep crew during the day. He
and Iva make a handsome couple and we are delighted to have them as members
of our staff.
Rachel
MacMillan
is from Beverly, MA. and, during the winter, is a para-professional at
Veteran's Memorial Elementary School for grades pre-school to 1st grade.
She is a wash-a-shore who has been here for two years. During the day
you can find her at the Cafe Edwige and at night she is at the front desk
at Ciro's.
Pavol
Skodl
is originally from Slovakia although he has been in the United States
for 4 years. He was an intern in a marketing company in Boston and he
plans to get his second master's degree in communicatins. Pavol started
out bussing tables at Ciro's but was quickly promoted to bartender and
waiter.
James
Richmond, a graduate of Cape Cod Tech, will be a
sophomore this coming fall at 4 C's where he is studying business management.
His plan is to transfer to UMass in Boston where he hopes to continue
his studies in fashion design with a focus on casual men's clothing. For
now we are happy to have him as a busperson.

Marvin
Smith, from Montego Bay, Jamaica, is
our 'go to' guy when you want clean pots and pans and dishes. He is reliable
and responsible and always does a fine job no matter how busy the night.
Thanks for being part of our crew!

Collin,
from Jamaica, returns for another summer as a member of our 'dish crew'.
We're glad to have him back and know we can count on him for a job well
done.
After
work it's not uncommon to see members of the staff enjoying an after shift
drink with one another. Related by blood or not, we are family! Charles,
Audrey, Jennifer, Scott and Bill, share
some good cheer on opening night, May 3, 2000.
